Add captions to any video, free

Auto captions with word-level timing, 80+ animated styles, 75+ languages. In your browser, no install.

Pluto World listens to your video, writes out every word with its exact timing, and paints animated captions over the footage in the style you pick. You fix a word by clicking it, move the caption box by dragging it, and export up to 4K. Nothing is generated: every frame stays exactly the frame you shot.

How to add captions to a video

  1. Upload your video. Drop in an MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 4 GB. No account needed to upload and try styles.
  2. Auto-transcribe. One click transcribes the audio with word-level timestamps. 75+ languages work, including mixed speech like Hinglish.
  3. Pick a style. Choose one of 80+ animated caption presets. Edit any word's text, timing, size, colour or position. Flip one switch and captions render behind the person in the shot.
  4. Export. 720p to 4K MP4. Rendering runs on your own device when the hardware allows, so it is fast and your footage stays private.

What makes these captions different

Questions

Is the caption generator really free?

Yes. Every caption style is free, and the free plan includes monthly exports and transcription minutes with no card required. Free exports carry a small corner badge; the Creator plan removes it.

How accurate are the auto captions?

Transcription runs with word-level timestamps and most clips need no edits at all. When a word is wrong, click it and fix the text, timing and styling in one view.

Which languages can I caption?

75+ languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu and Arabic, plus code-switched speech like Hinglish. Many can be captioned in native script or romanised.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Pluto World runs entirely in the browser on desktop: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Upload a clip and start captioning without an account.

Can captions go behind the person in the video?

Yes. The subject is separated from the background automatically, and one switch renders captions behind them, like hand-rotoscoped text.
